We all know that living with HS can knock you down. It can make life a bit difficult sometimes and it can be hard to stay motivated. But life can be good, despite HS. We contacted some fellow HS warriors to talk about hidradenitis suppurativa and share some advice with us.

Jasmine Ivanna Espy

Jasmine has been battling HS for over 10 years. She has dedicated her time to sharing her experience of HS and daily life, and to inspire others to share their stories, too. She wants people to talk about hidradenitis suppurativa

Her new documentary, “My Gold Lining: A Documentary on Hidradenitis Suppurativa, will e available for streaming soon and we can’t wait to see it. In the meantime, we asked Jasmine to share some advice on living with HS:

Jackson Gillies

Jackson is a truly inspirational young man. He has been living with diabetes and HS for a long time, and despite this struggles, is making the most of his life. Firstly, Jackson is a fantastic musician and you can listen so some of his songs here. 

Secondly, Jackson has overcome so much and has appeared on American Idol. During this time, he spoke about his journey with HS and raised so much awareness of the disease, it was amazing! We wanted to talk about hidradenitis suppurativa with Jackson, and see if he had any advice for people struggling to manage it. Here is what he had to say:

Shawn Kindle

Shawn just blew me away when I spoke to him. He has been battling several chronic illnesses for a long time and his experience with HS was gruelling to hear. He has overcome so much to achieve his career in business, and he is also completing a PhD at the moment. He is a shining examle of how we can manage our disease and still get the most out of life. Here is what he has to say:

Elise Axon

Elise has had HS since childhood and has become an advocate for people struggling with the disease. She appeared on the television show “The Bad Skin Clinic” and since then has used her platform in Instagram to talk about hidradenitis suppurativa, and encourage others to do so too.
