Hidradenitis Suppurativa takes its toll on our bodies in many ways. As well as dealing with the usual pains and discomfort of the wounds and lesions, HS also causes us to walk differently and sit differently. HS can even affect our posture. HidraWear has teamed up with the most wonderful yoga instructor Ana Maria Conneely, a movement and wellbeing expert and speaker. Ana Maria will be teaching us about yoga and hidradenitis suppurativa. She has been teaching yoga since 2013 and she is an ITEC certified CTHA associated massage therapist, nutritional advisor and host of The A Way to Live Well podcast.

We have developed short yoga videos tailored for people living with HS. These may help relieve muscle pain, stretch out those limbs and help us improve our posture. The great thing about yoga is that anyone can do it. You don’t have to be a yogi to feel the benefits. People of any age can take part, young and old, overweight or slim,  it doesn’t discriminate. Practicing your new moves, even just a few minutes every day can give you the power to calm your mind, and strengthen your body.

In the first  instalment, we look at how we can improve our posture after years of holding a protective stance to reduce the pain from HS in the armpits.


In the second instalment, Ana Maria shows us some very gentle stretches for the neck and chest.

In the third instalment, Ana Maria shows us some very gentle stretches to strengthen the core.
